Every Month, Dr. Felsenthal leads the Beverly Health Health and Safety Commission in a “Moment of Mindfulness” to increase mental health awareness and to share tools to promote wellbeing. All commission meetings are aired on Beverly Hills Public TV and recordings can be accessed via the City’s website.

2023

January- spoke on ways to reduce inflammation, and lead the commission in Progressive Muscle Relaxation.

February- guided meditation and breath exercise

March - meditation to balance and shift awareness to increase a sense of well-being

April - a breathing exercise and titled 4 x 4 equal breathing to help clear the mind.

June - a breathing exercise to stimulate the vagus nerve.

July - 4-7-8 breathing to promote deep relaxation.

August- mindfulness and using mood ratings as a tool for mental health.

October - mindful breathing to reduce stress and engage the senses.

December - presentation on sleep hygiene

2022

January - Grounding through the Five Senses, as well as an extended presentation on Tips for your Mental Health Toolkit.

March - A meditation to balance and shift our awareness to increase a sense of wellbeing.

April - An exercise titled Mindful Rings.

May - A mindfulness exercise called Mindful Breathing as a Pleasant Event.

June - Commissioner Felsenthal spoke on well-being and led the group in a mindful meditation focusing on gratitude.

July - A breath exercise followed by a mindful meditation titled Labeling.

October - A special guided meditation with silent reflection.

November - Commissioner Felsenthal shared a parable on anger and led a guided meditation titled, “Self Embrace.
